Located in Norwest is an excellent opportunity for a Junior Accountant to join a great team.

THE ROLE:

Reporting to the Manager and Partners your key responsibilities will include:

  • Reconciliation of client accounts
  • Assist in financial statement preparation
  • Assist senior accountants in financial data analysis
  • Partake in the end of month & end of year closing processes
  • Investigate and resolve any financial discrepancies
  • Participate in the development of annual budgets
  • Support the internal and external audit processes by assisting the preparation of documents and schedules
  • Being aware of existing legislation, current developments and ATO interpretation that may impact on the work you are performing for clients
  • Communicating with clients and team members in a professional manner
  • Developing an understanding of fundamental accounting for small business while working towards being able to interpret clients’ data and financial information
  • For the jobs you are allocated, being aware of the opening time WIP and accumulation of WIP and examining the final WIP when the job is completed
  • Supporting other team members and promoting a positive team environment as all team members have a strong desire to work in a harmonious workplace

THE CANDIDATE:

To secure this role the ideal candidate will have:

  • Relevant commerce related qualifications (either completed or in progress) with the desire to complete professional studies to secure a CA or CPA qualification
  • Knowledge of MYOB, XERO and other tax preparation software
  • Excellent communication skills – you will be working with varied size businesses and internal stakeholders so it’s essential you can communicate clearly and effectively. You enjoy building strong rapport with your clients and your team
  • The ability to multi task and take on a proactive approach to the work
  • A good sense of humour. This is a great team who work hard on maintaining their current culture. You love getting involved in team building days and like to have a laugh throughout the day
