Located in Bundaberg QLD is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Production Manager to join a great team.
THE ROLE:
Reporting to the Plant Manager your key responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring compliance to all regulations in order to maintain a safe and harm free workplace and leading continuous improvement initiatives and projects.
- Developing a world class manufacturing system including, lean cells, tiered reviews, visual controls and standards and visual lessons. The manufacturing system will incorporate all operational facets including safety, environment, quality, housekeeping, people development and production performance.
- Developing the highest level of teamwork where the shift teams operate as a cohesive unit, hold each other accountable and self-manage.
- Annual departmental business improvement plans incorporating the pillars of OHSE, quality, people, cost and delivery.
- Annual production budget and assisting the plant manager in developing site budgets.
- Developing effective performance measures, reporting and cost tracking meeting corporate and site requirements along with standard work practices, visual standards and train operators to adhere to IMS and QC requirements to ensure world class quality performance.
- Developing a team structure, training, succession and support plans to ensure; Production teams possess all required skills including OHS, engineering, materials and process, QA, core operating, fault finding and teamwork.
- Liaising with planning function of supply chain and schedule production as required.
- Delivering daily toolbox topics and rosters to support planning direction.
- Developing autonomous operator maintenance routines to ensure assets are maintained to optimum standards.
THE CANDIDATE:
To secure this role the ideal candidate will have:
- 5+ years of experience within a Production Manager position – you may be in a similar role looking for a change or have been covering the role unofficially and looking to take a step up.
- Relevant trade or tertiary qualifications – Degree qualified (Engineering or Science).
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to improve individual and team performance – You’re the type of Manager who likes to roll your sleeves up and lead by example to get the best out of your team.
- A passion and comprehensive understanding of continuous improvement approaches, manufacturing principles, preventative maintenance strategies and working in a complex processing environment – this role has a strong focus on strong leadership and continuous improvement.
- Proven negotiation and influencing skills.
- Comprehensive understanding of modern manufacturing principles.
