Excellent opportunity for an experienced Distribution Manager ideally with exposure to manufacturing & distribution. Altona location.

THE ROLE:

Reporting to the Plant Manager, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing distribution and warehouse management.
  • Staff management – team of 10 including casuals and permanent staff.
  • Fleet management of 13, 8T forklifts including working with service providers.
  • Coordinating inventory stocktake.
  • Acting as the first point of contact for any customer complaints or escalations relating to damaged or undelivered products.
  • Managing distribution department budgets and budget control
  • Overseeing continuous improvement initiatives
  • Working closely with the HSE Coordinator – adopting a safety-first mindset and leadership style

THE CANDIDATE:

To secure this role the ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience within a similar environment where you have overseen a small team, ideally within a manufacturing and distribution environment – you enjoy the mix of staff management, inventory control and logistics coordination.
  • Qualifications in either Logistics & Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering or Transport & Distribution.
  • The kind of personality that leads by example, enjoys developing and managing a team while always working with a safety focused mindset.
  • Strong admin and reporting experience – you will have responsibility for month end reporting, variance reporting and operational analysis.
  • A current forklift & drivers licence
